New naming scheme for TYPO3 Security Bulletins

By: Helmut Hummel

The TYPO3 Security Team introduced a new structure and a new naming scheme for security bulletins.

Over the years the list of security bulletins published by the TYPO3 Security Team grew longer and longer. Not only the menu looked a bit overwhelming lately, other information provided at our team pages was not really visible any more. Additionally it was hard to distinguish bulletins that have been published for the TYPO3 core from those for extensions. This was especially annoying when doing security research and trying to find a special advisory.

To tackle both issues, we placed the core bulletins and the extension buletins on separate pages. Of course links to old bulletins will still work.

We also decided to change the naming scheme for bulletins to reflect this separation. TYPO3 core bulletins now start with "TYPO3-CORE-SA-" and extensions bulletins with "TYPO3-EXT-SA-".

This is the first step in restructuring the advisory- and the team-pages, more things will follow in the near future. We hope you like it.
