Typo3 Usability Roundup!

Category: Sudara Williams, TYPO3

This week is looking good for Typo3 Usability! A Usability survey is launched and Jens Hoffman sent me an amazing collection of Usability ideas and improvements for Typo3.

The Typo3 Usability Team (technically the Typo3 Human Computer Interaction Team) has launched a survey for you to fill out. Yes for **you** to fill out! It does not matter if you develop extensions, work on the core, enter content, or just tried the system out.

Go to http://survey.typo3.org and spend 5 minutes of your time letting them/us/everyone know what your experience is. 6 languages are available, so there is no excuse!

For those who want to step further than filling out a survey, Jens Hoffman of the HCI team assembled a 108-page monster roundup of Usability guidelines we should be following, ideas for a new BE, and an array of new ideas and design patterns. It was made a little less than a year ago, but still deserves our attention and addresses many needs that have not yet been met. Download the PDF.

If you are really excited, join the HCI team mailing list. Bonus points if you are a programmer (this is the rare breed we're looking for!)

i started it this morning.. but i had to stop before finishing.
now i want to resume/de do it. but i can't:

"You have already responded to this survey. You can only do this once."

any idea how to recover it? it could be a (usability) problem for many people..

thanks
stefano

Uh oh!

I would clear your cookies or use a different browser, and try it again.

You can try contacting the folks at the company sponsoring the survey: Go to http://www.mindshape.de/typo3.html and there's a Contact at the bottom of the page.

Hi,

I just finished the survey. But it has been kind of difficult to do so, as IE7 shows some strange graphics errors. All those radio buttons and checkboxes are "unclickable" until one does a mouse-over, which makes a clickable checkbox apear some pixels below the position of the "radio button mirror". If one does minimize IE and max it again, everything is displayed correctly.

Hope you guys do understand, what I am trying to describe.

Greg
