TYPO3 Coding Guidelines updated for version 4.x
By: François Suter
The TYPO3 4.x Coding Guidelines were updated with observations made during the development of version 4.4.
This is just a short note to draw your attention to the changes contained in the newly released version of the TYPO3 4.x Coding Guidelines:
- the rules on line length were relaxed. In an era of larger screens the limit of 80 characters seemed a bit too restrictive, but some best practices are still advised, so go and read all the details in the manual;
- a note was added to the effect that all punctation marks must be included in localized strings;
- finally running and creating unit tests was added to the list of best practices.
