Taking over responsibility for the mailing lists

By: Luc de Louw

An introduction about me and my planned work for the mailing list server and what I'm going to blog here

First: Thanks for the warm welcome from Sebastian and Michael.

I think most of you already know me from different TYPO3 events, so I do not need to introduce myself in detail. I'm not very gifted with design stuff or TS or programming. Nevertheless, my job is to maintain lots of TYPO3 installations on Linux servers, I'm a Linux and Unix system engineer and administrator.

The mailing lists and the nntp server are important for the communication in the TYPO3 community. I take over the responsibility for the further development as well as for the daily business from Michael Stucki who made his Job very well.

The most urgent job to do for the mailing lists server is to implement a strong and reliable anti-SPAM system to improve convenience and performance of the list server.

Of course the implementation of such a anti-SPAM system will not be without some noise, a few short outages will occure. I'll inform you about planed work and activities here in this blog some days in advance.

Further I'll blog here about some Linux and Unix related news as far as it interesting for the TYPO3 community.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about Linux systems and related things.

Thanks,

 Luc
