This year started really powerful - currently more people than ever are working in the TYPO3 5.0 team and we've got our hands full with exciting tasks. Sounds revolutionary? Well, there's something in the air at least, as some already discovered. It's the UNKNOWN3.
We already announced at the T3CON07 that we plan to release the framework, which was made for TYPO3 5.0, as an independent package. We're convinced that many PHP developers will profit from this solution - if it's good enough for a full blown CMS, easy to use, well documented, it will be great fun to create your own applications on top of it.
The framework will get its own name, sub-brand and identity. But until we have that ready we use "UNKNOWN3" everywhere as a placeholder (because "the-package-which-must-not-be-named" turned out to be unhandy in daily development). Some speculated that the name would be "BEER3" or "JESUS3".
Well, you never know ...
