TYPO3 5.0 and Dynamic Backend Editing

By: Sebastian Kurfuerst

During the last weeks I slowly started with TYPO3 work again, after the beginning of university. On the 5.0 front, Robert, Sven and myself had a very good skype discussion about 5.0, and the day afterwards, I met Ronny after I discovered that he is from Dresden as well :-) - so we discussed about ways to continue. I am very happy that others get started now, namely Ronny with the Jackrabbit stuff, Sven with the Testing Framework and Sven (the 2nd one) with a VMware image enabling other people to help more easily. Robert and Karsten have set up our testing server by installing subversion and other tools, for example a trac instance for 5.0 development.

The Definitive Guide to TYPO3 (Version 5) is progressing all the time, so everybody is really active at the moment. Sadly I was not able to code again, but that will change again, too!

On the 4.1 front, Ingmar asked me to review Inline Relational Record Editing. Oliver Hader currently has this as his diploma thesis, and implements it for TYPO3 at that time. To integrate it into the core, Ingmar and I meet Oliver over the weekend to review his code and make it core-ready. I am really looking forward to that, and I'll keep you updated on the status.

That's it for today,
Sebastian

If you need any help on testing stuff, feel free to tell me, I think I can manage to reserve some time of my testing team for any TYPO3 5.0 related tasks.
